Remake
Granada Television has re-adapted the first two Galsworthy novels (The man of property and In chancery) for a March 2002 airing on ITV. The US should see the remade series in the fall of 2002. IMDB has more details.
The remake aired on US PBS in the fall of 2002. Some fans of Damian Lewis have done a Lewis-focused episode recap that's fun reading. They've also got a Yahoo Group all about the remake and Lewis. The UK DVD was released in spring 2002, and the US DVD is also available. You might want to read my review of the remake.
The key casting decisions are Damian Lewis as Soames, Gina McKee as Irene, and Rupert Graves as Jolyon. (The Graves site has an unintentionally amusing interview with him about the series and his role.) I have no idea what Lewis looks like, never mind if he's got the heavy chops to handle the role. Eric Porter's performance will be hard to follow. Clearly the cast is skewing much younger than the original BBC cast of the 60s. This has good points and bad points. Ioan Gruffud, the Welsh actor who played Horatio Hornblower in those well-received miniseries will play Bosinney, and will likely be an improvement on the very odd-looking and -acting John Bennett.
Current Online has a good interview with the producer of the remake.
I've found these shots from the remake:
